Addiction Abuse

Addiction abuse is a chronic and relapsing disease of the brain that is brought about by the compulsive drug use and drug seeking regardless of the harmful effects it has. Drug Abuse is considered to be a disease of the brain because of the changes that it has on the brain, the structure of the brain and how the brain works. The changes that take place in the brain can lead to behaviors that last a lifetime and can also be harmful to the addicted individual.

The reason individuals abuse drugs can vary from one individual to the next, but here are the most common reasons of drug abuse:

  • They make you feel good by producing the intense feeling of pleasure. Cocaine makes you feel high with confidence and energy. Heroin makes you have feelings of being satisfied and very relaxed.

  • They make you feel better. People that suffer from anxiety in social situations, have stress related problems or even depression use drugs to make these feeling “go away”. They think that taking these drugs makes them fit in, because they feel better about themselves.

  • They make you do better. People think that these drugs make them to better in sports or just in their everyday performance in general. The drugs give them a sense of boosting their ability to perform things at a faster and more effective level.

  • Curiosity. Everyone else is doing drugs. Peer pressure is also one of the reasons that someone starts the use of drugs. They see others and the thrilling behavior from them and want to join in.

Being involved in drug abuse, you might think that all of these things are untrue, but logic will set in and the drug abuse will set in and lead you to a road of total destitution. You do not need drugs to make you feel good or make you feel better or make you do better and certainly not because someone else is doing them.

After a continued amount of time in abusing these drugs, the pleasurable feeling will go away and the drug use will continue just to make the individual feel normal be cause it has taken over the brains normal function and led you into drug abuse. This will have put you into the situation of taking more and more drugs to get the feeling that you once had from just one dose. Taking that first drug can lead you straight into drug abuse and addiction.
